I was just thinking about what I should post for my next entry. I was wondering if modulations to a certain key would always be carried out in a certain way. For example, in the song from Sister Act, there is a modulation from Bb maj to B maj. Would the way in which modulation is carried out be the same if the music modulates from D maj to Eb maj for example? In both instances, it is modulating to a key a semitone up.
Just thinking through, I think it will be different, as each song will have its own different melodies. Therefore the manner in which the music flows will be different. I don't know if this is a very silly and trivial thing to be thinking about......

Hardly an idle question! Be on a look out for such modulations, you will find more than one way of effecting them. In your Sister Act example, you already have two different approaches modulating from Bb to B, then B to C. Just to mention (recall) one more for you: think of the enharmonic respelling involving Ger 6/5.
